City of Thompson
Thompson Public School is located in Thompson, ND.  Thompson is a small, quiet, rural town in east-central Grand Forks county in North Dakota.  The city of Thompson is a growing city with a growing population.  The 2010 Census lists the population of Thompson at 1,013 residents.  The Thompson school district consists of two schools, Thompson Elementary, and Thompson High School; both schools are housed in one building.  The Thompson school district is a member of the AdvancEd accreditation group (formerly NCA).  

Thompson Elementary School
Thompson Elementary School offers grades Kindergarten through sixth; there are currently at least two classrooms of each grade making for a total of 16 Elementary classrooms.  In 2012, Thompson Elementary School was presented with the prestigious National Blue Ribbon award.  Thompson Elementary School also has an Extended School Program (ESP) that has both morning and afternoon session that is available for all students in grades K-6.  Thompson Elementary School has 250 students in grades K-6.  The Elementary school also has a computer lab with 26 computers which is utilized by all teachers on a weekly basis.  Thompson school district has also a wonderful library; this library is utilized by all students of Thompson Elementary school.  Because Thompson Elementary School is serviced by Grand Forks Special Education unit; we are able to provide all types of accommodations for all students that may require assistance.  

Thompson High School
Thompson High School offers grades seven through twelve.  There are 15 classrooms for these students.  Student's in Thompson have a variety of elective classes that they can take including Art, Spanish, FACS (Family and Consumer Science), Technology (formerly Industrial Arts), and even Automotive Technology.  There are 210 students in Thompson High School.  There are also two computer labs, each with 20 computers; one of these computers labs is for general use while the other lab houses mainly business education classes.  Thompson High School also has 64 Chromebooks that are being utilized in two different classrooms.  

Thompson Public School offers very up-to-date and modern facilities.  Our main gymnasium has been updated with new bleachers, remodeled locker rooms, new scoreboards, and a re-designed floor.  Our auxiliary gym has been updated as well and is used primarily for K-6 physical education, practices, concerts, and theatre.  Our school is home to a large library; our library has a large number of titles and also houses many subscriptions to magazines and other periodical references.  We have recently completed several upgrades to our critical systems including a new computer-based heating and air conditioning control system, new classroom intercom system, new telephone system, new wireless network, and a new network infrastructure.
